Pregnancy and after the birth
It’s fair to say that – barring major trauma – giving birth is, probably, the biggest strain you can place on your pelvis.
Whilst the human body is amazing and produces a huge array of chemicals in the body to assist in the process, giving birth can be a significant strain on the body for many women.

Whilst huge strides have been made over the years to make labour safer with resulting reduction in mortality rates, the increasing medicalisation of birth including induction, elective c-sections and other procedures can cause problems in themselves. Whilst some of these procedures are necessary, the result can be an increase in strains of pelvic muscles and more discomfort after the birth.
Pregnancy can cause general aches and pains, including joint and back pain, due to body changes including softening of ligaments, weight increase and changes to posture. Chiropractic, osteopathy and osteomyology care in pregnancy are a safe and gentle way to promote balance and comfort in the body and can help to minimise these problems during your pregnancy and after birth. The techniques we use are also suitable at all stages of development and can help soothe and relax you.
Treatment in pregnancy may include gentle manual adjustments of the spine and pelvis, including light techniques such as activator or S.O.T.
Rest assured – all the techniques we use for our pregnant ladies are perfectly safe and appropriate for the problem.
